February 28 Flash Fiction: To the Girl Who Made Me A Mother

Today’s flash fiction prompt: Write based on the line “I wish I could tell you…” It’s the final day of the February Flash Fiction Challenge, and I’ve gotta say, it’s been fun! Daily writing is great exercise, and the prompts got me out of my comfort zone.

This one’s dedicated to my daughter.

To the Girl Who Made Me A Mother

It’s all smooth sailing from here.

You will always be surrounded by good people. Your closest friends will always see your worth. You won’t fail. You can’t fail. You’ll know what to do when it’s time.

These are the things I wish I could tell you. But the future is full of uncertainty, the path isn’t always clear, and those we begin our journey with aren’t always there at the end.

Here’s what I can tell you, Precious Daughter. You are loved beyond measure. You are beautiful beyond words. You have value beyond what you can do. You changed my world just by existing. It is enough to trust and be.

Remember this.
