Today’s flash fiction prompt: Write a list and give it context. I thought this was a fun brainstorming exercise, and I enjoyed weaving themes into it. Enjoy!

Things I Probably Should Have Said No To

That second helping of ice cream at dinner.

The free trial at the gym (that I forgot to cancel).

Watching another episode on Netflix.

Suffering sixteen flights of stairs to walk my friend to her door, because she didn’t want to get bored on the way.

Meeting with friends after 9 pm.

Extra cheese at Olive Garden.

Volunteering to do a carpet craft with toddlers.

Letting the kids drink juice in open cups.

Hiking.

The insurance for my electric pencil sharpener.

That first helping of ice cream at dinner.

The exercise videos my sister forced me to buy and try out together.

Playing a game of Twister.

Putting off my knee surgery.

Switching to a cheaper brand of toilet paper.

Ice cream.
